Cunard Boss Wins “Outstanding Individual Award”

Cristina Munoz, Brand Partnerships and Events Manager at Cunard Line, has received an award for her work to help raise £2million for a national youth charity organization. She was presented with the “Outstanding Individual Award” by The Prince’s Trust at a ceremony at the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel in London. Following the 10 year partnership with the national youth charity, Cunard has raised £2 million to help Prince’s Trust reach more young people.

Greece Flood Victims to be Housed on Cruise Ship

More than 1000 people affected by the massive floods in Greece will be housed on the luxury cruise ship “Celestyal Nefeli” which is already docked in Piraeus. The cruise ship was made available for the people who have lost their homes, following the intervention of the Minister of Shipping and Island Policy, Mr. Panagiotis Kouroupli.

Celebrity Flora to Join Celebrity Cruises in 2019

Celebrity Cruises is building a new cruise ship for the Galapagos Islands which is set to debut in 2019. The new vessel named Celebrity Flora will have a capacity of 100 passengers and a tonnage of 5,739 gt, will be the largest cruise ship in the Galapagos Islands and will receive luxurious equipment in style of a large yacht. The ship is being built in the Dutch shipyard De Hoop, which is actually better known for river cruise ships construction.

Carnival Triumph fails USPH inspection

The cruise ship Carnival Triumph fail to pass the recent USPH Inspection.  Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Inspectors boarded the vessel on November 11, at the port of New Orleans, Louisiana, and found multiple violations. CDC has not yet released an official report on their website, however, several crew members have reported that the final USPH score was 78. An 85 or lower on the CDC's 100-point inspection scale is considered failing grade.
