Costa Cruises is once again setting the stage for an unprecedented musical experience at sea, as the company launches the Music Cruise 2025, celebrating the renowned Sanremo Festival. Departing from Savona on February 8, the cruise will transform the Costa Toscana into a floating concert venue.

For the fourth consecutive year, Costa Cruises is an official partner of the Sanremo Festival. The announcement was made during a press conference hosted by Rai Pubblicità on February 10, where Costa joined other key institutional partners in unveiling plans for the 2025 edition.

The Italian Coast Guard successfully carried out a medical evacuation on February 5, rescuing a 33-year-old female passenger who suffered a stroke while on board the cruise ship Costa Toscana. The emergency took place while the ship was sailing from Palma de Mallorca to Palermo, approximately 20 miles south of Cape Teulada.
 

Ship officers alerted the Operations Section of the Cagliari Coast Guard, which deployed AW139 Nemo 11-05 helicopter from the Decimomannu Air Section.

Costa Smeralda, the flagship of the Costa Cruises fleet, has successfully completed the liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering in Dubai. The operation, carried out by the Green Zeebrugge tanker, filled the ship's three cryogenic steel tanks with 3,000 cubic meters of LNG. This fuel will power the ship’s engines for at least two and a half weeks.

Rogério Faria da Silva, 44, known as 'Morcegão,' identified as a leader of Brazil's notorious criminal faction, First Commando da Capital (PCC), was apprehended at the Giusfredo Santini Passenger Maritime Terminal. The arrest occurred in Sanots as Morcegão disembarked from the cruise ship Costa Pacifica on December 26, after a family vacation that began on December 22, reports OGlobo.

On December 17, 2024, the cruise ship Costa Toscana reported a few cases of gastrointestinal illness among passengers. 

In response to the reported cases, Costa Cruises implemented containment measures recommended by health authorities. 

These include:
•    Disinfection: The ship underwent meticulous sanitation procedures to reduce contamination risks.
•    Enhanced Hygiene Protocols: Stricter hygiene measures have been enforced to ensure safety.

Cruises has teamed up with the Food Bank Foundation of Mallorca to provide support to those most in need on the island. This collaboration, launched officially on Thursday, also includes the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands (APB) and aligns with the 2030 Agenda's goals of promoting responsible consumption and reducing food waste.

Costa Cruises announced the grand opening of the new Crew Bar on Costa Fascinosa. The crew bar is a place where all crew members can relax and enjoy their free time after a hard day's work, and now the Costa Fascinosa crew can enjoy a completely new venue.

Last month, the ship celebrated the inaugural event, attended by the Master, Chief Engineer, the Crew Welfare Committee, and dedicated colleagues. This new space is designed to provide the hardworking crew with a place to unwind and socialize.

Costa Cruises recently celebrated the "National Day of Made in Italy," an event established by the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy to promote Italian creativity and excellence on Leonardo da Vinci's birth anniversary. The celebration took place onboard the Costa Smeralda, the flagship of Italian taste, design, and craftsmanship.
