Massive Brawl at Royal Caribbean’s Perfect Day at CocoCay

A day of fun at Royal Caribbean’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay, took a violent turn on Sunday when a massive brawl involving more than 30 people broke out at the Oasis Lagoon pool.

Eyewitnesses described the scene as “chaotic” and “out of control.” According to passengers posting on CruiseCritic and Reddit, the fight escalated quickly, with multiple groups involved in physical altercations. One man was seen bleeding heavily from the head and was reportedly evacuated from the scene for medical treatment.

Footage posted online, including a video posted by Dawn Baker shows dozens of guests shoving, punching, and grappling with each other in the shallow water and along the pool’s edge. Security personnel and staff can be seen rushing to intervene as the brawl continued.

The incident unfolded while Utopia of the Seas and Jewel of the Seas were docked at CocoCay. Guets reported that the Oasis Lagoon area was cleared shortly after the fight began, with music cut off and bartenders ceasing service. Operations at the pool were suspended for the remainder of the day.

While the exact cause of the brawl remains unclear, several passengers suggested the confrontation started between members of a large group who appeared to know each other before boarding. Others speculated that alcohol may have been a contributing factor, with some pointing to the influence of unlimited drink packages offered onboard.

Royal Caribbean International has not yet issued an official statement about the incident. Bahamian authorities have also not confirmed whether any arrests were made or if charges will be filed.

The fight has sparked broader discussions among cruise enthusiasts about rising passenger misbehavior at sea and on private islands. “It’s not just about one incident,” one CruiseCritic forum user wrote. “It’s part of a bigger trend of people treating these vacations like a free-for-all.”
