We are deeply saddened to report the passing of a crew member aboard the Margaritaville Islander. The tragic event occurred during a general emergency crew drill while the ship was docked in Cozumel, Mexico.

The crew member, from Indonesia and part of the AB Deck Department, was found unresponsive on the deck following the drill. 

While the details remain unclear, it appears he sustained fatal injuries during the lowering of a lifeboat.
 

Early this month, a 32-year-old Brazilian staff member, tragically took his own life after being fired by the jewelry retail company Effy. Known for his charisma and talent, Francisco Budny Macedo was deeply dedicated to his work. He was employed as an assistant shopping ambassador for Effy Jewellery/HFGM and his last contract was on the Holland America Line cruise ship Eurodam.

In a heartfelt message, Francisco's family shared the news of his passing:

Last week, a tragic event occurred on the cruise ship Celebrity Infinity. A 45-year-old crew member from Indonesia was found dead in his cabin. The discovery was made while the ship was sailing between the Greek ports of Thessaloniki and Kavala.

The ship’s officers informed local authorities about the incident, and upon arriving in Kavala, the crew member's body was transferred to the medical examiner in Komotini for a necropsy, according to Greek news outlets.

The U.S. Coast Guard has suspended the search for the missing Holland America Line crew member who went overboard from the cruise ship ms Rotterdam, 20 miles south of Marathon. The search for the 33-year-old man has been suspended after covering over 538 square nautical miles, the U.S. Coast Guard said.

A crew member waiting for his joining date was found dead by his family in the India's state of Goa. A news article posted on the social media reported that Ryson Menon, a 31-year-old resident of Khursabhatt, was found hanging from a footbridge after a heated argument with his mother.

Two crew members died in engine room incident on Holland America Line's cruise ship Nieuw Amsterdam during a call at Half Moon Cay in Bahamas. The explosion led to the release of steam, which resulted in the tragic death.
Cruise Law News reported that the deceased crew members were third engineer Joseph Terrado and wiper Wawan Gusnawan. 

A 27-year-old woman from Florida was discovered dead in her cabin aboard a cruise ship traveling towards the Bahamas, according to the Royal Bahamas Police Force. The incident, which came to light on Monday evening, saw the ship's medical personnel attempting resuscitation efforts on the unresponsive passenger, ultimately declaring her dead after the CPR attempts.
