Spanish authorities have launched air and sea search for a 76-year-old British passenger who reportedly went overboard from the cruise ship Marella Explorer 2, north of the Canary Islands.

Maritime rescue service confirmed that the search began yesterday and resumed at first light. “It has been confirmed he went overboard and is aged 76. The search for him started yesterday and is continuing today,” the spokesperson said.
