The Star Princess, Princess Cruises' second liquefied natural gas (LNG) powered ship, was floated out today at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy. Weighing in at 178,000 gross tons, this vessel is a sister ship to the Sun Princess, which was also built at Monfalcone and delivered earlier this year. This makes the Star Princess the second-largest ship ever constructed in Italy, as well as the second LNG-powered cruise ship built by Fincantieri for Princess Cruises.

Santorini has introduced new rules to manage the number of tourists arriving by cruise ships. The island's port authorities now limit the number of guests at the dock to 500 at any given time. This measure is meant to reduce overcrowding at the dock and make the experience better for everyone.

Police are searching for a 14-year-old autistic boy from the U.S. who went missing in the port of Warnemünde, Germany. The boy, Aydin Brown, was last seen disembarking the Caribbean Princess on July 4, shortly after the cruise ship docked at the port, and has since disappeared. Witnesses reported that the teenager disembarked around 7 a.m.

The police launched a public search after his disappearance was reported. Aydin Brown is approximately 175 cm tall and has long, dark hair. He was wearing a dark jacket, long dark trousers, and retro shoes.

A staff member aboard the Princess Cruises' ship Majestic Princess tragically passed away three days ago during a 14-day Alaska voyage. The staff member, identified as a UK national and working as a Digital Specialist onboard, was found dead in his cabin.

The cruise ship Ruby Princess collided with Pier 27 in San Francisco during the early morning hours of Thursday, July 6, 2023.
