Princess Cruises Launches Star Princess on Maiden Voyage

Princess Cruises has officially welcomed its newest Sphere-Class vessel, the Star Princess, as it embarks on its inaugural 11-day Western Mediterranean journey from Barcelona. This milestone marks the debut of the 17th ship in the Princess fleet.

Weighing in at 177,800 tons and accommodating 4,300 guests, the Star Princess sets a new standard for the fleet with its 30 dining and bar venues, upscale entertainment options, and refined accommodations.

Inaugural Itinerary and Future Voyages

The Star Princess began her maiden voyage on October 4, 2025, sailing from Barcelona and visiting Mediterranean ports including Marseille, Rome (Civitavecchia), Naples, Sicily, Cartagena, and Gibraltar, before returning to her homeport on October 15.

Following a shorter seven-day Mediterranean cruise, the vessel will cross the Atlantic to debut in Fort Lauderdale, where it will be officially christened during a highly anticipated naming ceremony on November 6, 2025.

The ship will then spend the winter 2025 to spring 2026 season sailing Caribbean itineraries, exploring some of the region’s most sought-after destinations. In summer 2026, the Star Princess will reposition to the Pacific Northwest, where it will offer seven-day Alaska Inside Passage cruises from Seattle.
