Princess Cruises is facing pushback from its crew after announcing a new tattoo policy that requires all visible tattoos to be fully covered while on duty, effective September 10. 

Princess Cruises has issued a fleetwide update to its tattoo policy, formally requiring all shipboard employees to keep visible tattoos covered while on duty. The change, announced in an email sent to all departments by the company’s Fleet HR Team, will take effect on September 10.

A burst pipe aboard Sky Princess, led to a dramatic scene Tuesday night when water from the upper deck flooded multiple public areas of the cruise ship, prompting emergency procedures and temporarily displacing passengers from central sections of the ship.

The incident occurred around 10:45 p.m. on April 8, as the ship sailed its 7-day roundtrip voyage from Southampton to Spain and France. Water reportedly poured from the burst pipe connected to the Sky Pool down through several decks, flooding the popular Piazza atrium on decks five and six.

The cruise ship Discovery Princess broke free from its mooring lines due to unexpectedly strong winds at the port of San Francisco, causing a gangway to fall into the water. Fortunately, all passengers and crew remained safe, with no reported injuries.
