Small Fire Breaks Out On The Norwegian Escape

A small fire broke out in the engine room technical area on the Norwegian Cruise Lines’ ship Norwegian Escape yesterday morning, after the vessel departed from Civitavecchia on a 10-day round-trip to Greek Isles and Italy. 

Code Bravo was sounded on the ship's PA system and the firefighting teams were quickly dispatched to the affected area. 

Norwegian Bliss Starts 2022 Alaskan Cruise Season

Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Bliss became the first cruise ship to open this year’s Alaska cruise season, from the port of Seattle. NCL has a long history of cruising from Seattle to Alaska, having initiated the route in 2001 and Norwegian Bliss is first of five Norwegian Cruise Line vessels to cruise The Last Frontier through October 2022. 

Oceania Cruises Announces Refurbishment of Riviera and Marina

Oceania Cruises has announced subtle elements in the upcoming redesign of its Riviera and Marina ships with 1,210 guests. Debuting in December 2022 and November 2023, individually, Riviera and Marina will become what the line calls "better than new". Every surface of every stateroom and suite will be unused, while in the open spaces, the revived color palette will include modern textures, furniture and lighting fixtures.

Norwegian Joy Skips Cozumel After Experiencing Propulsion Issue

Yesterday the cruise ship Norwegian Joy skipped the scheduled call to Cozumel, Mexico and is now heading back to its homeport Miami. The reason for this is that the vessel has been experiencing a technical issue affecting its maximum speed, reported several passengers sailing on the Joy. The ship was near Cozumel when the decision to skip the port was announced.
