SpaceX has secured another major contract with Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings to provide Starlink internet onboard its cruise ships, according to DriveTeslaCanada.

In spite of the popularity of e-muster drills, which have been implemented as part of the COVID protocols by all major cruise lines, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings has decided to go back to the old way. 

NCL also released the following operational announcement:

Cruises aboard the Norwegian Joy between January 6 and February 10, 2024, have been canceled due to an extended dry dock refurbishment. Guests were notified by email that reads: "As part of our commitment to continually offer our guests outstanding vacation experiences around the world and to support a consistent product of world-class classes around the world our fleet, Norwegian Joi will undergo revitalization in early 2024." 

After laying off 9% of its shoreside employees, reducing housekeeping services, eliminating onboard positions, and taking away staff members' privileges, Norwegian Cruise Line is taking another drastic step to cut down costs.

This time the company is targeting the entertainment department by eliminating “expensive” production shows and laying off cast members and entertainment staff.

Norwegian Cruise Line will reduce cleaning services in guest staterooms aboard all of its ships in 2023. According to a letter sent to crew, the company will adjust the current daily stateroom (turn-down) service provided to guests in all categories below a Suite level. Guests staying in Studio, Inside, Oceanview, Balcony, and Club Balcony Suite will receive once-daily stateroom service.

After completing its transpacific voyage from the US, the Norwegian Spirit arrived in Sydney Australia on a beautiful sunny day. The Norwegian Spirit sailed by the iconic Opera House and Harbor Bridge before docking at the Sydney Harbour as NCL’s first cruise ship to return down under in three years.

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. announced major changes in key senior executive leadership positions at two of its wholly-owned brands. Effective January 1, 2023, Andrea DeMarco, current Chief Sales and Marketing Officer for Regent Seven Seas Cruises, will serve as President of Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Frank A. Del Rio, current Chief Sales and Marketing Officer for Oceania Cruises, will serve as President of Oceania Cruises, succeeding Howard Sherman.

Two German cruise passengers were attacked in a violent robbery while sightseeing in Recife, Brazil, where their ship had docked. One of the passengers was stabbed in the head during the incident and was taken to a local hospital, G1 Globo reports.

On December 6, 2022, Norwegian Cruise Line announced the increase of daily services charges, which provide gratuities to key onboard crew members. In a letter sent to guests and travel agents the company said that starting January 1, 2023, will be making a nominal adjustment to the daily service charges.
