Norwegian Cruise Line has issued a notice to crew members on the Norwegian Sun, announcing a proportional refund for internet services following continuous connectivity issues. This refund, covering the period from October 29 to November 6, 2024, comes as a result of network issues that have made it difficult for the crew to stay connected.
The Communications Services Manager has initiated the refund process to address crew concerns and provide compensation for the disruptions. Although the refund offers some relief, the notice further informs the crew that connectivity is likely to continue until the ship reaches Hawaii on November 15. The connectivity issues are reportedly due to limited beam availability in the region, which has impacted the onboard internet signal.
While Norwegian Cruise Line acknowledges the inconvenience, they assure crew members that efforts are underway to stabilize the connection as much as possible. Crew members with any questions or concerns about the refund process or ongoing connectivity issues can reach out to management for further assistance.
The Norwegian Sun is currently on a 14-day cruise from Papeete, Tahiti, to Honolulu, Hawaii, which began on November 6 and will conclude on November 20, 2024.
The internet connectivity issues on board might be because of the limited satellite beam availability in this region, which affects signal strength and stability.
