Years at sea leave behind more than passport stamps and memories. For many crew members, ship life becomes part of who they are long after signing off. Former cruise ship crew member is now transforming those experiences into music through his newly launched album.
CruiseBiker25 is using rhythm, lyrics, and storytelling to capture the emotional side of life at sea the sacrifices, friendships, homesickness, adventures, and determination shared by crew members around the world.
The project features uplifting and energetic songs inspired by real onboard experiences, blending different genres, languages, and cultural influences familiar to international crews. Tracks like First Contract, Across the Tides, and Salt & Steel reflect the realities many seafarers know all too well: long contracts, challenges far from home, and the resilience needed to keep going.
“I sailed the world and now I’m telling the story,” Mendoza shared. “These songs are meant to encourage the new generation of seafarers not to easily give up when they experience hardships onboard.”
Unlike many commercial music projects, CruiseBiker25 comes directly from lived experience. He wrote the lyrics himself and invested in the studio production and music arrangements, making the project deeply personal and fully owned by him.
The music carries a strong message of motivation and connection for crew members who often spend months away from family while adapting to life in multicultural floating cities. For many listening, the lyrics may feel less like songs and more like memories from contracts they once lived through themselves.
CruiseBiker25 aims to create something rarely heard in mainstream music: authentic stories from the people who keep the cruise industry moving behind the scenes.
For crew members preparing for their first contract, currently onboard, or simply missing life at sea after signing off, CruiseBiker25 hopes the music becomes a reminder that they are part of a global family connected by the ocean.
