Carnival Triumph Evacuated After Small Fire Onboard

A fire broke out today March 21, 2019, aboard the cruise ship Carnival Triumph during the dry dock refurbishment in Cadiz, Spain. According to the reports hundreds of workers who were inside the ship were evacuated after a small fire broke out on deck 4 of the bow-starboard side. The fire started in the early afternoon when welding works were being carried out. Navantia shipyard fire crews responded to the emergency and put down the fire.

Two Filipino Crew Members Severely Burned On Norwegian Escape

The US Coast Guard performed a medical rescue evacuation of two crewmembers who reportedly suffered from second-degree burns on the NCL cruise ship Norwegian Escape on Monday evening. A officer onboard contacted watchstanders at the Fifth District command center at 3:50 p.m. requesting an urgent medical evacuation of two Filipino crewmen, 25 and 26 years of age, who suffered burns caused by a fire in the engine room.

Engine Room Fire on P&O Aurora

A fire broke out in the engine room of the Luxury cruise ship, P&O Aurora. The vessel was drifting for an hour in mid-Atlantic without propulsion and electricity. Aurora made the last stop to King’s Wharf, Royal Naval Dockyard in Bermuda, before heading to Ponta Delgada, the Azores when a fire started in the engine room at around 13:00 September 20. 

Fire Damages Several Decks on Norwegian Joy

Red fire alert was sounded at the German Shipyard Meyer Werft on Saturday. The fire broke out in the early morning hours on the Norwegian Cruise Line new build ship Norwegian Joy. The fire started on one of the staterooms balcony on Deck 9, at around 7:50 a.m. The hall was evacuated, and luckily no one was injured. Affected by the fire are several decks of the 326 meter long vessel. 130 firefighters and dozens of rescue workers were deployed to the shipyard.

The German Meyer Werft shipbuilding dock 2 was evacuated today due to a fire that started during construction works on Norwegian Cruise Line latest ship, Norwegian Joy. According to Meyer Werft spokesman Gunther Kolbe, the fire started at around 7 a.m. at a junction box of the cruise ship. All workers were evacuated from the affected production area and firefighting teams were send to the scene. The fire was quickly extinguished and there are no injured workers.
