Thousands evacuated from Carnival Horizon after bomb scare

The Italian shipyard Fincantieri in Marghera was evacuated on Friday, May 26, due to a bomb scare on the latest Carnival cruise ship, Carnival Horizon. Device detected onboard wrapped in red tape with twisted wires connected to the red LED light, has triggered the alarm. The vessel which is under construction was evacuated at 3:30 p.m. after one worker noticed suspicious device leaning against a ladder on deck 4.

Carnival Liberty Chefs Create Largest Hamburger at Sea.

Celebrating National Hamburger Day, Carnival Cruise Line created the largest hamburger at sea onboard the cruise ship Carnival Liberty. The massive 300 pound Guy’s Burger was presented while the vessel was docked at Port Canaveral. Chef de Cuisine explained that the giant three-and-a-half-foot-wide hamburger consists of 200 pounds of meat, 50 pounds of cheese and toppings, as well as 50 pounds of flour to make the bun.

Celebrity Constellation Suffers Propulsion Problems After Dry Dock

After 2 weeks multimillion dry-dock in STX shipyard in Marseille, France, the cruise ship Celebrity Constellation was scheduled to depart from Barcelona for a signature Formula 1 Grand Prix sailing event in Monaco. However, the voyage was postponed due to propulsion issues and the vessel will stay in Barcelona until 28th May the company said.

The christening ceremony was held in the Port of Malaga, which will also be a homeport of the vessel during the summer season.
