Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines welcomed a group of healthcare professionals from Hospice Malta aboard its ship Bolette for a special wellbeing day while docked in Valletta.
A total of 39 staff members were invited onboard for a relaxing break from their demanding roles in palliative care. The day included a guided ship tour, a creative crafts session, and a shared lunch, giving participants a chance to unwind and experience life at sea.
For many, it was their first time on a cruise ship, an experience described as both memorable and heartwarming. Guests highlighted the warm welcome from the crew and the opportunity to visit the ship’s bridge as standout moments.
The initiative was designed to recognize the compassion and dedication shown daily by Hospice Malta’s team, who support patients facing serious and life-limiting illnesses, as well as their families.
Crew members also found the day rewarding, as it offered a chance to give back to those who spend their careers caring for others. The visit reflects Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ broader commitment to community engagement, creating meaningful connections in the destinations they visit while making a positive impact beyond tourism.
