The continuing uncertainty around the cruise industry in Australia and the government’s lack of action has forced P&O Cruises to make a massive cancellation on more voyages for the next year. The cruise line confirmed it had been forced to cancel its homeporting to three majour ports Adelaide, Fremantle and Cairns, at least for the first half of 2022.
This week, Royal Caribbean’s Adventure of the Seas was welcomed to Galveston for the first time, where it is starting the series of cruises to the Western Caribbean. The vessel will join Liberty of the Seas, which has Galveston as a homeport, too.
In the period between July and the end of September 2021, Galveston has seen more than 168,000 visitors cruising out of the port.
