Empress of the Seas Itinerary Affected by Hurricane Matthew

Royal Caribbean cruise ship, Empress of the Seas will not be able to dock in Miami due to precaution measures implemented by the port authorities. The cruise capital will be closed to all vessels from Wednesday, October 5, as Hurricane Matthew looming on Florida. The Miami Port will close all marine traffic until further notice. Scheduled arrival on Thursday of Royal Caribbean Empress of the Seas will be delayed, and the cruise ship is expected to dock on Friday. Boarding on Friday will take place as soon as the ship receives green light from Port Miami authorities.

An Inside Look at Royal Caribbean’s Training Center in the Philippines

Royal Caribbean Cruises is operating a training facility in Maragondon Cavite, Philippines, managed by PHILCAMSAT - Philippine Center for Advanced Maritime Simulation and Training. The company currently employs around 11.000 Filipino crew members working on board the world’s largest cruise ships and plans to hire up to 30.000 Pinoy crew in the following years. Therefore Royal Caribbean is investing in state-of-the-art training facility in Maragondon Cavite.

What’s Inside the Mystery Box Loaded on Cruise ship?

This mystery box was loaded on the Royal Caribbean cruise ship Independence of the Seas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on a 4-day voyage with stop in Grand Turk before returning with a new owner. Inside the box was a custom made motorcycle, presented as a ruffle grand price. The award-winning visionary and builder behind Deadwood Choppers Kustom Motorcycles, Mr. Jack Fiorvante, donated this custom build motorcycle.

Rhapsody of the Seas Damaged During Storm in Greece

Royal Caribbean Rhapsody of the Seas has been damaged by a strong winds that the ship encountered this morning. The ship was hit by powerful wind at 5:00 AM waking up all passengers onboard, while sailing near Greek Isles. The ship sustained damages in public areas and several large windows in the dinning room have been broken.  There are also reports that the ship heavily listed and water poured from the pool deck to several decks bellow.

1 Crew Member Dead 2 Seriously Injured on Harmony of the Seas

Just over three months after its inaugural cruise, Harmony of the Seas, the largest cruise ship in the world, is a scene of a serious accident. According to information provided by the French newspaper "La Provence", a lifeboat with five crew members inside detached off deck 5 crashing into the sea.  One crew member has been killed and two other crew are critically injured after a lifeboat fell while the ship conducted lifeboat drill in the French port of Marseille on Tuesday, September 13.

Staff Member is Suing Royal Caribbean for $1 Million

Former staff member working as a musician on Royal Caribbean is suing the cruise line for negligence led to an unsafe work environment aboard, that caused injuries to the plaintiff. SE Texas Record reports that the victim, Gerald Dahir of Harbor City, California, filed a lawsuit in Galveston Southern District Court against Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., for violation of the Jones Act. 

Anthem of the Seas battles 100 mph winds by the remnants of Hermine

The Royal Caribbean cruise ship Anthem of the Seas, which left from Cape Liberty, New Jersey, toward Bermuda faced high winds from the Tropical Storm Hermine. The rough conditions worsened early Sunday when the cruise ship started swaying. According to one passenger from New Jersey the waves were up to 40 feet with wind gusts up to 100 knots. On-board photo shows the current screen showing 98 knots wind.
