A bomb threat triggered a temporary lockdown at the Port of San Diego on the morning of March 30, 2026, briefly halting cruise operations while authorities carried out a full security sweep.
The incident unfolded at the B Street Cruise Terminal in downtown San Diego at around 7 a.m., just as Disney Wonder was preparing for its regular turnaround. According to local reports, a port employee received the threat, prompting an immediate response from Harbor Police.
Officers, along with explosive detection K9 units, were deployed to secure the terminal and investigate the situation. As a precaution, passengers were not allowed to disembark the ship during the lockdown.
After approximately two hours of inspections, authorities confirmed that the terminal was safe. By around 9 a.m., the lockdown was lifted and normal port operations resumed.
The delay had only a limited impact on the ship’s schedule. Disembarkation resumed shortly after clearance was given, and operations continued without further disruption.
The Disney Wonder had just returned from a 3-night cruise to Ensenada and was scheduled to depart later that afternoon on a 4-night itinerary to Catalina Island and Ensenada. With Catalina located relatively close to San Diego, any minor delays were not expected to affect the voyage.
Authorities have not released additional details about the origin or nature of the threat. No suspicious items were found, and no injuries were reported.
