Family and friends of the cruise ship passenger Omar Almotairi, who went missing from Norwegian Spirit are searching for the truth behind his disappearance. They took to the social media and started legal actions in Spain in search for the 34-year-old Saudi national.

A small fire broke out in the incineration room during the current 15-Night Panama Canal from Miami voyage on Norwegian Bliss. Following the Code Bravo, firefighting teams were deployed on Deck 4 where ships waste incinerator room is located and quickly managed to put the fire down. 

Norwegian Cruise Line announced it will cancel this week stops in Hawaii. The cruise ship Pride of America which makes regular voyages around Hawaii will not make any stops this week because of “adverse conditions” on the island. The cruise line released a statement today saying that their cruise ship will not call in Hilo on Tuesday, instead will spend a day at sea.

A 25-year-old Norwegian Cruise Line crewmember was detained by Bermuda Authorities on May 2, for possession of Cannabis-infused mints. According to Royal Gazette, Ethan Crystal from New York, part of the Norwegian Escape crew was stopped and searched by Customs officers at Dockyard’s Heritage Wharf as he returned back to the cruise ship.

The U.S. Coast Guard medevaced a 41-year-old crew member on Monday from the Norwegian Cruise Line ship, Norwegian Getaway. The cruise ship departed from Miami on April 15, and was sailing to Costa Maya when the medical emergency was requested.

Heavy fog that lasted for days at the port of Shanghai has forced several ships to cancel their voyages including the cruise ship Norwegian Joy. According to the local media, after passengers have embarked on March 27 onboard the Norwegian Cruise Line ship, specially dedicated to the Chinese market, they were informed that the voyage is canceled. Following this announcement, hundreds of passengers took to the ship’s guest relations desk to protest.

NCL has confirmed the incident saying that a female guest went over the rail and into the ocean. Crew rescue teams immediately responded to the emergency and lowered a life boat to search for the missing passenger around the ship.
