Two Filipino Crew Members Severely Burned On Norwegian Escape

The US Coast Guard performed a medical rescue evacuation of two crewmembers who reportedly suffered from second-degree burns on the NCL cruise ship Norwegian Escape on Monday evening. A officer onboard contacted watchstanders at the Fifth District command center at 3:50 p.m. requesting an urgent medical evacuation of two Filipino crewmen, 25 and 26 years of age, who suffered burns caused by a fire in the engine room.

Norwegian Jade Cancels Voyage Due to Major Technical Issue

On Sunday, November 18, NCL cruise ship Norwegian Jade experienced major technical problems while in the port of San Juan, Puerto Rico. The vessel will not be able to continue the scheduled 10 days Caribbean cruise and all passengers will get a full refund. The captain has announced that due to mechanical issues all passengers will have to disembark and fly home by Tuesday. Norwegian Cruise Line will take care of the costs of airfare, and is providing a future cruise credit to all who are onboard.

British woman rescued 10 hours after falling off Norwegian Star in the Adriatic Sea

A 46-year-old British woman was rescued after falling from the cruise ship Norwegian Star off the coast of Croatia, the country's coastguard reported. Croatian Coast Guard said the woman identified as Kay Longstaff was rescued 10 hours after falling into the Adriatic Sea some 45 nautical miles offshore - around 11.45 pm on Saturday.

Victoria Police are searching for a missing crew member who failed to return to the cruise ship. The missing person is identified as 36-year-old Lloyd Takana who was working on the Norwegian Cruise Line cruise ship Norwegian Pearl. Ships officers notified the police that one of their employees failed to return to the ship after he disembarked in Victoria, British Columbia on June 2nd, 2018.
