Disney Adventure Nears Completion

The construction of Disney Adventure, Disney Cruise Line’s first ship built for the Asian market, is progressing steadily at the Meyer shipyard in Wismar. As the largest cruise ship ever constructed in Germany, Disney Adventure is now entering its final critical phase ahead of delivery.

Disney Cruise Line has officially confirmed that Disney Adventure will leave the Wismar shipyard on August 30, 2025. The vessel will make a technical stop in the Port of Mukran on Rügen to refuel before heading into its first round of sea trials.

The sea trials are expected to last approximately one week. During this period, all major systems including propulsion, navigation, and safety will undergo intensive evaluation under real maritime conditions. The trials will mark one of the most spectacular movements of a cruise ship in the Baltic this year.

Sea Trial Schedule and Crew Embarkation

Following the initial testing phase, Disney Adventure is slated to arrive in Bremerhaven on September 8, 2025, where additional outfitting work will continue. On September 20–21, the ship will dock in Eemshaven, Netherlands, for crew embarkation and further preparations. She will then return to Bremerhaven for final completion work, which is expected to wrap up by October 5, 2025.

Delivery Voyage to Singapore

Immediately following completion, Disney Adventure is scheduled to depart Europe on October 6, 2025, for her repositioning voyage to Singapore. Once there, final preparations for her entry into service will take place. The ship’s maiden voyage is set for December 15, 2025, launching Disney Cruise Line’s expansion into Southeast Asia.

Engineering and Construction Background

Originally begun at MV Werften before the shipyard's insolvency, the massive vessel was taken over by Meyer Group and brought to Wismar for completion. Due to its size—342 meters in length and 208,000 gross tons it exceeded the capabilities of Papenburg’s Meyer Werft shipyard.
