A deep sense of sadness has spread across MSC Seascape crew following the tragic passing of one of their colleagues.
Crew Center received messages from several crew members confirming that their college, Daniel from Kenya, passed away in his cabin on the morning the ship arrived in Galveston, Texas on February 8. He was working as assistant waiter and was described by his colleagues as kind, hardworking, and dedicated person.
The exact cause of death has not been officially confirmed.
According to crew members, the news came as a shock and had a heavy emotional impact on everyone onboard. Some described a drop in morale as the crew struggled to process the sudden loss of one of their own.
To honor Daniel’s memory, a small ceremony was held onboard, giving colleagues a chance to pay their respects and say goodbye. It was a quiet and emotional moment, reminding everyone of how closely connected crew life can be.
Life onboard a cruise ship often means spending months away from family, building strong bonds with fellow crew members who become like a second family. When one is lost, the pain is felt by all.
At this difficult time, our thoughts are with Daniel’s family, friends, and his colleagues.
We extend our deepest condolences to everyone affected by this heartbreaking loss.
May Daniel rest in peace.
