A Filipino crew member who was working for the German cruise company TUI Cruises died of cardiac arrest. The cabin attendant Syne Diente age 39, passed away on January 12, 2019, onboard the cruise ship Mein Schiff 1. Ship’s medical personnel was alarmed by his cabin mate and quickly responded to the scene, but unfortunately, it was too late. His fellow shipmate send the following message:
It was a day of mourning for all of the officers, staffs, and crews of Mein Schiff 1 after Star code had been alarmed in the PA system. An emergency had been called on a crew cabin. After an hour ago an emergency meeting had been called for all the crew at the theater. Everyone had been in a state of sadness as our Captain speaks about the said emergency. A Filipino crew had passed away last night. As our Captain speaks through I can feel how sad he was. This was the very first time of my 15 years working on a cruise ship that I saw a very emotional Captain speaking about how important his crew are. You can even see how hard he can speak about the tragedy of his crew and if I’m not mistaken he cries as he turn back and wipe his tears. As of now, this is all the info that I can share. Heartfelt condolences to the family of the said crew member. Wherever he is I pray that his soul may rest in peace with our almighty creator. God bless us all.
