We are deeply saddened to report the passing of a crew member aboard the Margaritaville Islander. The tragic event occurred during a general emergency crew drill while the ship was docked in Cozumel, Mexico.
The crew member, from Indonesia and part of the AB Deck Department, was found unresponsive on the deck following the drill.
While the details remain unclear, it appears he sustained fatal injuries during the lowering of a lifeboat.
This was his first contract with Margaritaville at Sea, and those who knew him describe him as a humble and friendly individual who always had a smile on his face.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and the entire Islander team. It’s always incredibly hard and personal when one of our own passes away. His presence will be deeply missed, but his kindness and spirit will always be remembered.
