Carnival Horizon scores 96 points on the first ever USPH inspection

Its official, the latest Carnival Cruise Line ship, Carnival Horizon passed its first-ever USPH (the United States Public Health) Inspection. CDC Officers boarded the vessel Yesterday, July 27, in the port of San Juan, Puerto Rico and after several hours inspection, the ship was awarded 96 out of 100 USPH points.

Carnival Corporation reduces its carbon footprint by 26.3%

Carnival Corporation released its eighth annual sustainability report, announcing that in 2017 the world's largest leisure travel company achieved its 25 percent carbon reduction goal three years ahead of its 2020 sustainability projections. The company has reported that it achieved a 26.3% reduction in its carbon footprint as part of its goal to reduce the impact on the environment contained in its 2020 sustainability program.

Carnival Crewmember Fired for Using Guest Launderette

Crew Laundry is a big problem on all cruise ships. Most of the times, not all washing machines and dryer units work, so this is a big problem for the crew especially on the big ships. This is a story of a former Carnival Cruise Line crew member who was fired for using guest laundry room because most of the laundry machines for the crew were out of order.

Hundreds of Crew Members Fired for Using Free Internet Access App Onboard

A week ago former Carnival Cruise Line employee send me a message saying that last year many crew members were fired for using an app which provides free access to the onboard internet. The app called YOUR FREEDOM was widely used by Carnival crew on many ships, and for just $7 for 6 months crew were able to get unlimited access to surf the net.

Two Macedonian Staff Members Awarded Harding Employee of the Month

Every month Harding Retail, the world’s biggest on-board tax- and duty-free outlets operator on cruise ships, awards two employees for their outstanding and dedicated work. The awards are dedicated towards an outstanding performance in line with Harding Retail Corporate Values Trust, Spirit and Professionalism. Last month awards went to Mitko Stamenkovski who was awarded “Harding US, Manager of the Month” and Dimitar Kjosevski taking “Employee of the Month award”.

Carnival Cruise Line Introduces New Crew Internet Plans

Carnival Cruise Line has introduced new internet prices for crew members on their latest cruise ship Carnival Horizon. Unlike previous plans where Carnival crew was charged per minute, the new plans include charges by Megabyte. The good news is that the new prices are lower than the old ones. Now the crew will have an option purchase $5, $10 or $40 internet card with prices ranging from 10, 9 and 6 cents per MB.

Carnival Corporation named one of the best places to work for LGBTQ employees

For the second year in a row, the world's largest leisure travel company, Carnival Corporation has received a perfect score of 100 and designation of the best company to work for LGBTQ equality. Carnival announced that it has been recognized by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the largest LGBTQ civil rights organization in the U.S. with a perfect score in its Corporate Equality Index (CEI), which rates U.S. companies on their treatment of LGBTQ consumers, investors, and employees.

Carnival Cruise Line Announces Senior Officers for Carnival Panorama

Carnival Cruise Line has named its senior leadership team for their latest cruise ship Carnival Panorama, scheduled to join the fleet in December 2019. The vessel which is currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy, will be based in Long Beach, Calif. – the line’s first new ship homeported on the West Coast in 20 years.

Carnival Cruise Line Takes Delivery of Carnival Horizon

Carnival Horizon has joined Carnival Cruise Line as the 26th cruise ship of the fleet. Horizon is currently sailing to Barcelona where the inaugural 13-day voyage will start on April 2nd. The traditional maritime handover ceremony was held at the Fincantieri shipyard attended by Micky Arison, Chairman of Carnival Corporation, Christine Duffy, President of Carnival Cruise Line, while Fincantieri was represented by the president Giampiero Massolo and the managing director Giuseppe Bono.
