Costa offers cruise ship to house Ukrainian refugees

Costa Cruises is offering one of its cruise ships to house Ukrainian refugees fleeing the Russian invasion of their country. The company offered the cruise ship Costa Magica, which is currently out of service, to the Italian government as a potential hosing vessel for the Ukrainian refugees, if the number of refugees arriving in Italy increases in the coming weeks.

This year Starguard Elite hosted its annual Conference for Aquatics Professionals aboard the Royal Caribbean International ship Independence of the Seas. At the conference, RCI Lifeguards were awarded 5 STAR standard for safety, the only cruise line to be awarded the highest standard for aquatic safety.

Cunard’s Mixologist, Ryan Lapag Latumbo is this year’s winner of the maritime division of the United Kingdom’s Bar Tenders Guild National Cocktail Competition. This talented bartender won his division with his cocktail “Sailor’s High Ball” and will join the other UKBG finalists in London in January 2022, for the chance to be crowned, overall winner of the prestigious National Cocktail Competition.

The First Professional Tennis Match in the middle of Antarctica aboard a cruise ship

As a unique region, one of the many in need of preservation was chosen by the brothers' John and Patrick McEnroe , American tennis legends, to play tennis in the middle of Antarctica aboard a cruise ship. The aim is not chasing any record, but an initiative that came out in need of awareness on climate change. This event is scheduled with the themed Atlas Ocean Voyages  11-day cruise on the World Navigator, departing on the 22nd of February.

MSC, Fincantieri and Snam partner on feasibility study to build the world's first hydrogen-powered cruise ship

The Cruise Division of MSC Group has joined forces with Fincantieri and Snam to determine the conditions for the design and construction of the world’s first oceangoing hydrogen-powered cruise ship. The partnership which will initially conduct a feasibility study to examine requirements to build the ship is part of MSC’s plan towards achieving net carbon neutral operations by 2050. 

Costa Cruises Turns Its Cruise Terminal Into Covid-19 Vaccination Site

Today Costa Cruises passenger terminal Palacrociere in Savona will be available as a Covid-19 vaccination site for people over the age of 80. As part of the "Silver Vaccine Day" campaign in Italy, Costa Cruises decided to open the cruise terminal in the fight against the virus, once again showing its contribution, solidarity and genuine care as a socially responsible company.
