New Disney Ship to Be Named Disney Believe

Disney Cruise Line has officially revealed the name of its newest ship, Disney Believe, marking another major step in the company’s expanding fleet. The announcement was made during The Walt Disney Company’s Annual Meeting of Shareholders, in one of CEO Josh D’Amaro’s first major moves in his new role.

The Disney Believe will be the fourth ship in the popular Wish class, following Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Destiny. The vessel will measure around 144,000 gross tons, stretch 1,119 feet in length, and accommodate approximately 4,000 guests across more than 1,200 staterooms, with a crew of about 1,555.

Powered by liquefied natural gas, the ship continues Disney’s push toward more environmentally responsible cruising while delivering the immersive, family-focused experience the brand is known for.

A Ship Inspired by Dreams

The Disney Believe will focus on the theme of hope and possibility, celebrating characters who follow their dreams. Onboard experiences will draw inspiration from popular Disney stories including Encanto, Frozen, Moana, The Little Mermaid, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

The ship’s design will present storytelling that encourages guests to believe in themselves, blending classic Disney magic with modern cruise innovation.

Construction and Timeline

Construction is underway at Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany, where the steel-cutting ceremony took place on August 8, 2025. This milestone officially marked the start of the build.

The Disney Believe is scheduled for delivery in 2027 and is expected to enter service later that year.

Expanding the Fleet

The new ship is part of Disney Cruise Line’s long-term expansion plan, which includes several new vessels scheduled to launch over the coming years. By 2031, the fleet is expected to grow to 13 ships, bringing Disney’s signature cruise experience to more destinations worldwide.

More details about the Disney Believe, including onboard features and itineraries, are expected to be announced soon.
