The world's largest cruise ship, Symphony of the Seas, was delivered to Royal Caribbean at the STX France shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France. The latest Royal Caribbean International ship took three years to complete and enlisted the work of 4,700 shipbuilders and crew. Symphony of the Seas takes the title world’s largest cruise ship of her sister ship of the Oasis Class, Harmony of the Seas.

Queen Mary 2 Captain Chris Wells, and his crew received a Medal for Seamanship presented by The Royal Cruising Club honoring them for the rescue of a skipper in the Atlantic. The ceremony was held at The Royal Cruising Club in Knightsbridge on March 1, where Captain Wells and Skipper Wheatley who was rescued by Cunard’s flagship jointly received the award.

The German Cruise Line Aida Cruises is planning a major event in Papenburg, for the christening ceremony of its latest cruise ship "Aida Nova". The new cruise ship, which can run on low-emission liquefied natural gas (LNG) will be christened on Friday, August 31, at the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg and at the same time a live concert is scheduled with the iconic DJ David Guetta.

AIDA Cruises Names First German Female Captain

Nicole Langosch age 34, has been named captain of the cruise ship AIDAsol, becoming the first female master in the AIDA Cruises fleet. The naming ceremony was held on Sunday in the port of Gran Canaria, where Nicole Langosch took command of the vessel. After ten years working for Aida, she will be responsible for 2200 passengers and 630 crew.

Ed Sheeran new documentary to feature his cruise ship adventures

Documentary about Ed Sheeran entitled “Songwriter” is set to be released this month. The producer Murray Cummings who was working with Sheeran projects, including couple music videos was collecting footage over the years and chronicles Ed's journey as a singer/songwriter.
