Royal Caribbean shared the progress on its brand new $125 million cruise terminal in Galveston, Texas. The 161,300-square-foot facility is slated for completion in November 2022, and when completed, will welcome the largest cruise ship to ever come to Galveston, the Allure of the Seas.

Carnival Corporation announced the introduction of a comprehensive technology upgrade called Service Power Packages across its global fleet to further improve energy savings and reduce fuel consumption. The upgrades include ongoing installations until 2023 onboard nine brand-name cruise lines - Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, Seabourn, P&O Cruises (Australia), Costa Cruises, AIDA Cruises, P&O Cruises (P&O Cruises) and Cunard.
Norwegian Cruise Line celebrated the float out of the Norwegian Viva, the second of six ships in its Prima Class, from its dry dock at Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera (Venice), Italy. The landmark is important in construction and represents the first time a vessel touches water.
A U.S. Coast Guard investigation is underway into the collision between the cruise ship Norwegian Pearl and the fishing vessel Gabby G.
The Gabby G, was returning to port when it struck the Norwegian pearl, which was on its way to Bermuda, the Coast Guard said. The crash happened at 2:25 a.m. in rainy conditions about 35 miles southeast of Nantucket.
