P&O Australia has announced the sale of its cruise ship Pacific Jewel in March 2019. The Cruise Line will be adding two larger cruise liners in its fleet which are currently operated by Princess Cruises, but not until 2020. This means that they will be short for two cruise ships for a year since the second vessel, Pacific Eden was sold in recent months and will head to Cruise & Maritime Voyages in 2019.
P&O Cruises has sent an email to their customers informing them that the company will no longer charge gratuities or as they refer to discretionary daily service charges.

A 46-year-old British woman was rescued after falling from the cruise ship Norwegian Star off the coast of Croatia, the country's coastguard reported. Croatian Coast Guard said the woman identified as Kay Longstaff was rescued 10 hours after falling into the Adriatic Sea some 45 nautical miles offshore - around 11.45 pm on Saturday.

Authorities in Puerto Rico are investigating the death of a man onboard the cruise ship Carnival Fascination. According to the police report, the man was identified as the 22-year-old Serbian national, Nikola Arnautovic. The young man who was part of Carnival Fascination crew was found hanged in his cabin on the Carnival Cruise Line cruise ship Fascination on Sunday at around 10.41 am (14.41 GMT) after the vessel docked at Pier 4 in San Juan.
