DJ David Guetta Live Concert At AIDAnova Christening ceremony

The German Cruise Line Aida Cruises is planning a major event in Papenburg, for the christening ceremony of its latest cruise ship "Aida Nova". The new cruise ship, which can run on low-emission liquefied natural gas (LNG) will be christened on Friday, August 31, at the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg and at the same time a live concert is scheduled with the iconic DJ David Guetta.

Starboard to launch exclusive shops on 3 new cruise ships in 2018

The premier retailer in the cruise industry, Starboard Cruise will start several important cruise ship retail openings on three new ships this year. Starboard Cruise will operate shops on three key vessels in 2018, Royal Caribbean Symphony of the Seas and Carnival Horizon set to sail in April, and Celebrity Edge is due to float out in December this year.

Symphony of the Seas is days away from completion and opening team is already on board for the final preparations. Royal Caribbean released a video of the inside look at her last phase of construction featuring Captain Rob Hempstead, Mark Tamis SVP Hotel Operations, Nick Weir VP Entertainment, Gary Thomas Traveling Corporate Executive Chef and Gianluca Corneli Hotel Director.

Miraculous Rescue by Norwegian Epic Crew

A passenger on board the Norwegian Cruise Line ship, Norwegian Epic, was rescued after going overboard on Tuesday night, as the vessel sailed near the Bahamas. NCL has confirmed the incident saying that a female guest went over the rail and into the ocean. Crew rescue teams immediately responded to the emergency and lowered a life boat to search for the missing passenger around the ship. 

AIDA Cruises Names First German Female Captain

Nicole Langosch age 34, has been named captain of the cruise ship AIDAsol, becoming the first female master in the AIDA Cruises fleet. The naming ceremony was held on Sunday in the port of Gran Canaria, where Nicole Langosch took command of the vessel. After ten years working for Aida, she will be responsible for 2200 passengers and 630 crew.

Queen Latifah Named Godmother Of Carnival Horizon

Carnival Cruise Line appointed Queen Latifah to be a godmother of the latest cruise ship Carnival Horizon. The baptizing ceremony will be held during an invitation-only overnight gala event in New York City on May 23, 2018.

Queen Latifah is Grammy award-winning musical artist, acclaimed television and film actress, Oscar nominee. She is the first hip-hop artist to be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Latifah has earned six Grammy nominations and a Grammy Award for Best Solo Rap Performance. 

Celestyal Cruises announces the return to the port of Istanbul

Celestyal Cruises announced the extension of its 2019 and 2020 itineraries which include 6 overnight stops in the port of Istanbul, Turkey. Next year Celestyal Cruises will extend its Mediterranean season until December and will sail to Istanbul for the first time since 2016 with its new 7-days voyages, which includes 6 departures from October 21, 2019, to November 25, 2019.
