Carnival Corporation's ultra-luxury brand Seabourn has announced restart of a second ship this summer through a series of new voyages operating out of Bridgetown, Barbados. Starting July 18, 2021 Seabourn Odyssey will set sail on 7-day cruises from Barbados to Southern Caribbean destinations, including Antigua, the British Virgin Islands, Dominica, Grenada, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, and St. Kitts.

The cruise ship Viking Orion arrived in the port of Bodrum, Turkey on April 18, to collect crew members and supplies as part of preparations for the upcoming summer cruises in Bermuda. Around 300 crew members, are expected to board the Viking Orion in batches as they arrive from various parts of the world. Viking Orion will stay in Bodrum until the end of April when the final batch of crew will board the ship.

Cunard Line announced today the retirement of Captain, Christopher Wells, after a stellar 20 year career with the company, part of 30 years spent working across Carnival Corporation cruise lines. Wells embarked on his retirement this week, as he was awarded the rank of Commodore in recognition of his long outstanding career with the brand.
The past few days have been devastating for the people on the Caribbean island of St. Vincent after La Soufriere volcano erupted several times in an explosion of ash and hot gas. The larges eruption happen this Monday, since the volcanic activity started last week, and poses a serious threat to residents yet to be evacuated.
A 44-year-old electrician, member of the crew of the cruise ship MSC Lirica, was injured on Wednesday while trying to change a valve of the cooling mechanism. At the time of the accident, MSC Lirica was at the port of Corfu, Greece where the ship is currently in warm layup. The crew member, whose name was not released, was first checked by the ship’s doctor and later transported by EKAB ambulance service to the Corfu General Hospital, for further medical treatment.
