More than 200 Mauritian crew members are stranded onboard the cruise ship Norwegian Epic, waiting for a charter flight in order to be repatriated home. As the country has not lifted the ban of its citizens arriving by plane they are desperate after spending more than two months on ship. In order to raise awareness to the government, last night they decided to make a video, beginning the prime minister to allow them to return home. 

Disney Cruise Line crew members, currently stranded on Disney Magic in the port of Dover, UK are waiting for repatriation. Disney transferred crew members from the Disney Fantasy and the Disney Dream to Disnay Magic which arrived in Dover, UK, May 19, 2020. Crew members were initially informed by Disney of its intention to fly them back home from the UK via commercial flights, as opposed to private charter flights, one crew member said.

A Filipino crew member died on the Virgin Voyages’ cruise ship Scarlet Lady this week. Cruise Law News who reported first about this tragic news said that several of his colleagues stated the crew member may have intentionally ended his life. The crew member who was a hotel utility employee was reportedly found in his cabin. 

About 450 crew members of the cruise ship Seven Seas Navigator docked at the port of Barcelona are quarantined after one crew member showed flu-like symptoms. According to the Spanish Ministry of Health, the ship arrived at the port of Barcelona on Thursday, and one female crew member with mild symptoms on board had been isolated.

A crew member has reportedly gone overboard from the cruise ship Vasco da Gama operated by Cruise and Maritime  Voyages. According to a fellow crew member wishing to remain anonymous, the incident happen yesterday around 4 pm while the cruise ship was docked at the port of  Tilbury, London. Our source says that the crew member tried to take his own life by jumping from the ship’s deck 12. He fell on top of a cargo container that was placed on the dock, next to the cruise ship.

Disney Cruise Line crew member sent us the following message addressed to his fellow crew members and to their family and friends who are waiting for returning home of their loved ones.

The crew community grieves the terrible loss of one more cruise ship crew member. Today we lost a young and talented colleague on the German cruise ship Aida Blu, docked in the port of Hamburg. The crew member was found dead in his cabin by his fellow team mates. According to reports, the deceased crew member is a Filipino national from Guihulngan City in the province of Negros Oriental. He was working in the Galley department on Aida Cruises ships. The death is not Covid-19 related

After successfully completing the first phase of the crew repatriation plan in Southampton, Carnival Breeze is sailing to the port of Cadiz to pick up the fellow team members from Carnival Victory. According to the plan the Breeze is scheduled to arrive in Cadiz on May 21, to pick up all crew on Carnival Victory not deemed part of the safe operational manning, along with contractors on board.

The cruise ship Carnival Breeze arrived in Southampton this morning as part of a Transatlantic repatriation voyage of Carnival Cruise Line’s European crew due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The cruise ship Costa Mediterranea has set sail today from the port of Brindisi, Italy on a long journey to Asia to repatriate Indonesian and Filipino crew members home. The voyage will take the crew through the Suez Canal and make an anchorage to do bunkering operation. Costa Mediterranea will arrive in Muscat on May 27, for loading of goods, and the same day the ship will set sail to Singapore.
