P&O Cruises Australia Goodbye with a Grand Farewell

Submitted by kgnadmin on

Sydney witnessed the end of an era as P&O Cruises Australia marked its final departure in spectacular fashion. On March 10, 2025, Pacific Adventure the last ship to sail under the P&O Australia brand, left Sydney Harbour with a grand send-off. Fireworks lit up the night sky, and the ship’s foghorn echoed as a farewell salute.

It was a night filled with mixed emotions. Many felt sadness at saying goodbye to a cruise line that had been part of Australia’s history for nearly a century, but there was also excitement about what’s next. P&O Cruises Australia is now becoming part of Carnival Cruise Line, with Pacific Adventure returning as Carnival Adventure and joined by Carnival Encounter.

P&O Cruises Australia has been a huge part of the country’s cruising history, starting 92 years ago when its ship, Strathaird, set off from Sydney on Australia’s first-ever cruise. Since then, millions of Australians have enjoyed unforgettable voyages with the brand.

As Pacific Adventure sailed away for the last time under the P&O flag, it marked the end of a long and cherished chapter. Though the brand may be gone, its legacy and the memories it created will live on. Farewell, P&O Cruises Australia—you’ll always be remembered.
