Luminosa joins Carnival Cruise Line

Moving from sister line Costa Cruises, Luminosa has officially joined Carnival Cruise Line's fleet as the newest vessel scheduled to debut from Brisbane, Australia on November 6, 2022.

"Carnival Luminosa is such an added asset to our Fun Ship family with its unique itineraries and onboard specials," said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. "Combining favorites from our fleet and our wonderful crew with some of Lumino's own fun features, this ship is sure to feel right at home with our guests in no time."

In Palermo, Italy, Costa Captain Nicolantonio Palombela handed over the ship to Carnival Captain Adrian Binacci, with additional management from both lines in attendance. Coming to Australia in just two months, Carnival Luminosa will sail a variety of seasonal routes from Brisbane from 6 November 2022 to 13 April 2023, offering something for everyone, before repositioning for seasonal services from Seattle to Alaska next May , including some exotic, first-time carnival destinations.

Carnival Luminosa is a sister ship to four other Spirit-class ships and can accommodate up to 2,826 guests and 1,050 Carnival crew members. Carnival Luminosa will be home to many activities and experiences from other Carnival ships that guests have come to know and love, as well as some new spaces.

With guest favorites from entertainment, youth, and spa, to casino, bars, and restaurants, offerings will include playlist production, The Punchliner Comedy Club, Limelight Lounge, Piano Bar 88, Alchemi Bar, RedFrog Rum Bar, Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse, Chef's Table, Bonsai Sushi Express, Sunday Brunch, Serenity Adult-Only Retreat, and Cloud 9 Spa, among others.
