Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has announced the retirement of long-serving Hotel Director Guy Sharp, marking the end of an outstanding career spanning more than two decades.
Born and raised in New Zealand, Guy built a career in the cruise and hospitality industry, working with several leading brands, including Seabourn Cruise Line and Cunard Cruise Line, before joining the Fred. Olsen family.
He began his journey with Fred. Olsen aboard Black Prince as Hotel Manager, later serving on Boudicca and Balmoral, before continuing his work across the wider fleet. Over the years, he became a familiar and respected presence to both guests and crew.
He has been widely recognized for his passion for service and people, with a strong commitment to developing talent, building potential, and leading teams to achieve consistent, award-winning standards.
Throughout his time with Fred. Olsen, Guy was admired for his warmth, professionalism, and genuine care for those around him, truly embodying the welcoming spirit of the company’s ships.
In a farewell message shared on social media, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines thanked Guy for his dedication and hard work, wishing him every happiness in his well-earned retirement.
