A couple sailing on cruise ship got into struggle late Tuesday November 8, with a armed robber in New Orleans Riverfront, reports WDSU News. According to the police, the couple was walking back to the cruise ship, when they were approached by a man at 100 block of Canal Street wearing dark-colored clothing and a bandana on his face. The robber pointed a semiautomatic handgun demanding their purse and wallets, however the couple refused and got into a struggle with the man. Shortly after the struggle the robber give-up and runaway. The coupe who was sailing on a P&O Oriana reported the attempted robbery to the New Orleans Police Department and provided description of the man.
P&O Oriana arrived in New Orleans on November 8 and docked at the Julia Street Cruise Terminal. The ship is currently on a 34 Nights USA & Caribbean voyage and is expected to depart New Orleans on November 9.
