The U.S. Coast Guard performed a medical evacuation of a 43-year-old crew member from the cruise ship Caribbean Princess, reports Coast Guard News. Watchstanders at Coast Guard 7th District Command Center received a call from the crew of Caribbean Princess on Friday, Jan. 25, 2019, requesting a medical evacuation for a crewman who had an object lodged in his throat.

The USCG deployed a MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter and hoisted the patient while the cruise liner was 219 miles south of Nassau, Bahamas and safely transferred him to Doctors Hospital in Nassau. From the photo above, released by the Coast Guard you can see the medical evacuation team assisting the crew member who is holding his arm on the chest.

Details about crew member’s condition or his name and nationality was not released by the authorities.
