Following the successful restart of operations with the Carnival Horizon, Carnival Vista and Carnival Breeze, Carnival Cruise Line announced today seven more ships will resume cruises by the end of October this year.
In September the cruise line plans to resume sailings on three ships including:
Carnival Cruise Line started its first cruise after almost 16 months from PortMiami, with the departure of Carnival Horizon on July 4. Carnival Horizon set sail at 4 p.m. from the cruise capital of the world for a six-day cruise with stops in Amber Cove, Dominican Republic and the private Bahamian island of Half Moon Cay.
Good Morning and Happy 4th Of July to all onboard the cruise ships sailing out of the USA and around the world. And what a happy day is today as we have some great news coming from the Carnival Cruise Line crew.
During the past year, the crew was not allowed to go out in ports and most of them haven’t step foot on land for the entire length of their contract. However, with the recent developments and vaccination of the shipboard employees, things are slowly starting to move in the right direction. I spoke with my fellow crew members to find out if the crew is allowed to go out in ports and if the cruise lines organize protected shore excursions for them.
No doubt the internet is one of the most important things for crew working onboard the cruise ships. The net is the window to the outside world, connecting the crew with their loved ones back home.
India's largest manning company providing highly skilled personnel for Carnival Corporation brands - Carnival Support Services India Pvt. Ltd. (CSSI), will conduct a COVID-19 vaccination drive in Mumbai for crew administrated by the company.
The cruise ship Carnival Dream has been forced to make a slight detour during its transatlantic voyage from Miami to Marseille, France. The vessel approached Funchal, Madeira yesterday and anchored near the port to disembark a crew member in need of medical assistance. The crew member was medically evacuated with a boat and transferred by to the Hospital da Luz by an ambulance waiting at the port.
The cruise ship Carnival Sensation arrived today in Mobile, Alabama for crew vaccinations. The ship docked into port in order for 110 crew members, currently on board, to get their first doses of the vaccine against COVID-19. Staff members from USA Health will board the vessel to vaccinate the ship’s crew who will then return in three weeks to receive their second doses.
Carnival Cruise Line released detailed instructions and rules for crew members who received a Letter of employment and expected to join the ships. As the company prepares to restart cruise operations Carnival wanted to help the joining crew set the right expectations by presenting more information for the joining crew on the new way of crew life on board.
