Windstar Cruises has taken delivery of Star Seeker, its newest all-suite vessel, following a handover ceremony at the WestSEA Shipyard in Viana do Castelo, Portugal. The 224-guest yacht is the first newbuild in Windstar’s Star Class and marks a key milestone in the company’s fleet expansion program.
With delivery complete, Star Seeker will enter its final preparation phase ahead of its commercial debut later this month. The yacht’s maiden voyage will sail from Málaga, Spain, to Miami, where a christening ceremony is scheduled for January 15, 2026, followed by its inaugural Caribbean season.
The vessel features 112 ocean-view suites, nearly all with private verandas or infinity windows, including two Horizon Owner’s Suites with wrap-around balconies. Public spaces include expansive open decks, five dining venues—highlighted by Basil + Bamboo—and WorldSpa by Windstar. The ship’s redesigned Marina provides direct access to the sea for water sports.
Star Seeker is equipped with advanced sustainability and safety systems, including Tier III NOx-rated Rolls-Royce engines, shore power connectivity, forward-facing sonar, and advanced wastewater treatment technology.
Following its Caribbean deployment, the yacht will operate a full Alaska season, before sailing itineraries in Japan in 2026 and 2027. Planned programs include Mystery Cruises and destination-focused cultural events.
Star Seeker will be followed by sister ship Star Explorer, scheduled to debut in December 2026, forming the foundation of Windstar’s new Star Class fleet.
