Carnival Corporation in partnership with Samsung and AT&T will offer a "fully immersive virtual reality cruise experience” with VR headsets at selected AT&T stores.
The project, which kicks off today, Feb. 19 2016, will enable consumers to use Samsung Gear VR headset in order to "be surrounded by the sights and sounds of a warm and sunny cruise vacation.”
Carnival announced that the demos for virtual cruises will be available in 133 AT&T stores in 37 states in USA.
Virtual reality content highlights entertainment venues, decks, staterooms among other onboard features. Costumers will have option to take VR Cruise on Holland America Line, Princess Cruises and Carnival Cruise Line ships as well as beach and excursion in various destinations.
AT&T customers will have chance to win one of 10 seven day cruises on Holland American, Princes and Carnival.
AT&T will transform its megastore in Chicago into a tropical destination, with features such as “mocktail" bar, live DJ and caricature station. This store will also have “VR Lounge,” simulating a cruise ship open deck, with lounge chairs and palm trees.
