In the cruise industry, we often talk about dedication, teamwork, and passion as the driving force that keep us moving forward. But every so often, someone among us lives out those values in such an extraordinary way that it inspires us all.
This month, that someone is Alberto Regazzoni Costa Cruises Commercial Intelligence & Reporting Analyst, who has once again proven that commitment knows no limits.
Representing Italy at the Masters Canoe World Championships in Montemor-o-Velho, Alberto struck gold not once, not twice, but three times—winning the K1 500, K1 200, and K4 500 events in the 35–39 age category. For Alberto, this was more than a competition. It was the culmination of 20 years of training in the port of Savona, often just steps away from Costa ships, and eight years wearing the Italian national colors earlier in his career.
“Wearing the Italian jersey again after 10 years was an emotional whirlwind,” Alberto shared. “This year has been full of challenges, but my determination to achieve my goals proved that age is just a number. What truly matters is the passion that drives us to improve every single day.”
Costa Cruises shared the news on social media:
“We are proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of our colleague Alberto Regazzoni, Commercial Intelligence & Reporting Analyst, who triumphed at the Masters Canoe World Championships in Montemor-o-Velho (July 29–31). Competing in the 35–39 age category, Alberto brought home three gold medals in the K1 500, K1 200, and K4 500 events, representing Italy with passion, precision, and pride.”
This is not his first brush with victory. Just last year, Alberto claimed two gold medals in the K1 canoeing races at 200 and 500 meters in the master category—another testament to his relentless pursuit of excellence.
Alberto’s story isn’t just about medals. It’s about the power of persistence, the courage to set ambitious goals, and the reminder that the skills we build in one area of life—discipline, focus, teamwork—are the same qualities that make us stronger in our work. His triumphs reflect the very spirit of Costa Cruises: a community united by passion, pride, and the drive to be the best in whatever we do.
Congratulations, Alberto. You remind us that no matter the waters we navigate—oceans or rivers—the spirit of determination will always carry us to new horizons.
