Two Carnival Cruise Line ships achieved high scores during the unannounced U.S.P.H. inspections, which took place at the Port of Long Beach, California.

On January 7, CDC inspectors boarded the Carnival Panorama and after completing all 44 items that comprise the U.S. Public Health Service’s VSP checklist, the vessel received a perfect score of 100 points with compliments to all crew for their hard work in regard to Public Health compliance.

A day after Carnival Panorama departed Long Beach, it was Carnival’s Miracle turn to be inspected at the same port. Carnival Miracle passed the U.S.PH. inspection with an almost perfect score of 99 out of 100. According to the CDC website Carnival Miracle last inspection was in May 2019, when the ship scored 98 points which is a point forward in compliance with the USPH standards.

We congratulate all the hard-working crew members aboard the Carnival Miracle and Carnival Panorama for keeping the ships in perfect condition which can be a tough job. Prior to these inspections crew members work extra hours to make sure all ship sections are clean and everything is up to the USPH standards.

The unannounced inspections are conducted twice a year for all cruise ships with an international itinerary calling at U.S. ports. The ships are evaluated in a wide variety of areas, including adherence to proper food handling, preparation and storage procedures, and overall galley cleanliness, as well as the potable water supplies used in spas and pools.
