Royal Caribbean crew member died under tragic circumstances on board the cruise ship Rhapsody of the Seas on 22 September. The vessel was docked in the Croatian popular cruise port of Dubrovnik, Gruz, when a crew member was reported overboard. According to Croatian media, the tragedy struck just after 2 pm local time.
David Radas spokesman for the Ministry of Maritime Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, confirmed that a review of surveillance camera footage revealed that a 35-year-old Indian citizen, member of the Rhapsody of the Seas, went overboard from the ship. The crew member is identified as Mansley Pereira, from Chinchinimn in Southwest Goa, India. He was working as a waiter for several years onboard Royal Caribbean ships.
Cruise Law News shared a video of the tragedy explaining that crew members pulled him onto a rescue ship and tried to revive Mr. Pereira with chest compressions, unfortunately without success.

Herald Goa has also reported about the tragedy saying that Mansley called his family and friends recently and wish them a happy feast. Fredrick Borges, a relative of Mansley has expressed his reservations on the fact that Mansley died of drowning. Mansley Uncle, Fredrick Borges said that there is no possibility of that he committing suicide. "He was a dedicated and hardworking employee and had got several promotions in a short while and has been only 3 months since he started his contract.
Nelson Lopes says that Mr. Pereira was a seasoned seaman and his friends speak highly about his stable mental health and are unable to fathom such a drastic step which has totally baffled them. A popular person will be dearly missed by all alike as recently spoken to family and friends.
His childhood friend posted the following announcement of Facebook.
Mansley Pereira body is likely to arrive in Goa after due formalities for a tearful farewell. All actions related to this event are investigated by Dubrovnik County State's Attorney's Office and the Dubrovnik-Neretva County Police Department.
