A dangerous stunt filmed aboard Wonder of the Seas has sparked outrage among the cruise community after a TikTok video showed two teenagers climbing on the railings of their cabin balcony, a move that could have easily ended in tragedy.
The video, posted on TikTok shows the teens balancing on the narrow balcony railing and attempting to cross to a neighboring cabin. At one point, one of them can be seen hanging onto the balcony above while leaning dangerously over the open ocean, wearing only flimsy sandals. The footage’s setting matches the layout of Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas.
Such behavior directly violates ship safety policies and could have severe consequences. Cruise lines treat reckless actions like this as serious safety breaches. Guests caught climbing or sitting on balcony railings can be confined to their cabins, placed under security observation, fined, or permanently banned from sailing with the cruise line. In some cases, passengers may even be disembarked at the next port.
Royal Caribbean, like other major cruise lines, has strict supervision rules: minors must stay in a cabin with an adult over 21 or in a directly connected stateroom. The policy is in place to ensure proper oversight, especially in situations where balcony safety is concerned.
