The 230,000-ton Symphony of the Seas earned a perfect 100 points on its most recent United States Public Health inspection last week. The Royal Caribbean International ship earned a 100 U.S.P.H. rating during an announced inspection on October 29, at the PortMiami. The perfect score has been achieved thanks to the 2,200 hard working crew who have shown its commitment and dedication to make this ship one of the cleanest vessels sailing out from US ports.
Symphony of the Seas, which currently operates seven-day Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises from Miami, Florida, received perfect scores on all 42 items that comprise the USPH comprehensive Vessel Sanitation Program (VSP) checklist.
In line with the VSP, the inspections are conducted twice a year and required for any cruise ship calling at a U.S. port, to evaluate ships in a variety of areas, including procedures of proper food handling, preparation and storage, and overall galley cleanliness. Ships’ potable water supplies used in spas and pools are also evaluated by the inspectors.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website Symphony of the Seas passed USPH inspection with 97 points in 2018, and 93 points in 2019.
