Royal Caribbean International’s newest mega cruise ship, Star of the Seas, is nearing completion, and now it’s time for the crew to bring the finishing touches. Recently, crew members from around the globe arrived at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Turku, Finland, to start the preparations for the ship’s debut.
On the first day of crew arrivals, Star of the Seas welcomed new team members arriving aboard twelve buses. Although this initial group represents only a fraction of the ship's full capacity of 2,350 crew, additional members will join over the coming days to ensure the vessel is fully staffed before departing the shipyard.
Royal Caribbean shared a video highlighting this exciting milestone, stating, “The crew is getting ready on board Star of the Seas as we count down the days. The start-up crew finally arrived at the shipyard in Finland to move onboard, learn the ship, and get ready to serve up the world’s best family vacations this August. Stay tuned for more exclusive behind-the-scenes and sneak peeks!”
Scheduled to launch in August 2025 from Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida, Star of the Seas promises to elevate vacation experiences for guests of all ages. The ship will feature unparalleled entertainment, exceptional dining venues like the Lincoln Park Supper Club, and three new culinary concepts at the popular AquaDome Market.
We wish everyone onboard a smooth and successful start as they prepare Star of the Seas for its exciting inaugural season!
