Sir Richard Branson Cruises the Streets of London on a Double-Decker Bus-Turned Cruise Ship

Submitted by kgnadmin on

From the seas to the skies and now navigating the streets of London, Sir Richard Branson once again delighted the public with a giveaway of free cruise vacations. In true entrepreneurial fashion and adding his personal flair, Sir Richard Branson took to London's streets in a specially designed bus modeled after the cruise ship Scarlet Lady, offering 200 people free cruises in the Mediterranean.

The 'ship' was brimming with excitement, featuring special performances by 'The Happenings' cast – who are regulars on Virgin Voyages ships.

Richard Branson participated in the event to kick off the Virgin Voyages 'Med Season', which includes voyages departing from Barcelona and Athens starting this May, and from Portsmouth in August. He remarked, "It was fantastic to board the Scarlet Lady this morning, cruising around and handing out free voyages to fortunate Londoners. Once we got going and people experienced the cruise ship first-hand, the response was overwhelming. It reminds me of the loyal following we built with Virgin Atlantic 40 years ago."
