Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas Turns One

Submitted by kgnadmin on

Royal Caribbean is celebratieng a major milestone this week—Icon of the Seas is officially one year old. And what a year it’s been! Since setting sail, the world’s largest cruise ship has welcomed 192,000 families on board, redefining what it means to take a family vacation at sea.

Icon debuted as the first of Royal Caribbean’s Icon-class ships, packed with industry firsts: eight unique neighborhoods, the Ultimate Family Townhouse, the first-ever water park at sea, a floating infinity pool, and even a swim-up bar—because why not? Oh, and let’s not forget Rover, the Chief Dog Officer.

But the adventure doesn’t stop here. In August 2025, Royal Caribbean will introduce its next Icon-class ship, Star of the Seas, setting sail from Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida. Like her sister ship, Star will offer 7-night Caribbean getaways with stops at the cruise line’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay. Expect fan-favorite experiences like the eight neighborhoods, 40+ restaurants and bars, the adrenaline-pumping Crown’s Edge, and all-new entertainment, including Back to the Future: The Musical and the Lincoln Park Supper Club, inspired by Chicago’s dining scene.

If the past year is any indication, Royal Caribbean’s Icon-class ships are changing the game—and the best is yet to come.
