Celebrity Cruises Announces Plan to Get Crew Members Home

Celebrity Cruises is preparing a major plan to send thousands of its crew members back to their home countries. In a letter sent to the crew, the President and CEO of Celebrity Cruises Lisa Lutoff-Perlo announced the repatriation plan of the shipboard employees from 60 different nationalities using cruise ships and charter flights.

Royal Caribbean is preparing a major plan for the repatriation of thousands of its crew members back to their home countries. In a letter sent to the crew signed by Michael Bayley - President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International, the company announced the repatriation of the crew from 60 different countries using cruise ships and charter flights.

Crew Member Goes Overboard from Jewel of the Seas

A young crew member went overboard from the cruise ship Jewel of the Seas on April 30, while the vessel was off the coast of Greece. According to the Greek media, a search was underway by the ship and the Coast Guard in an attempt to locate the missing crew member. A lifeboat and two Coast Guard vessels were involved in the search, and a Coast Guard aircraft was deployed in the area. Unfortunately the crew member was not located.

Royal Caribbean Crew To Receive Goodwill Payment

Once again Royal Caribbean has proven that the company truly cares about the shipboard employees. Even in these difficult times for all, the company decided each crew member to receive a $400 goodwill pay. In a letter distributed among Royal Caribbean crew members who are still aboard the ships the company said the selected crew are entitled to financial support.

Royal Caribbean to use three Australia based cruise ships to repatriate crew members home

Royal Caribbean has decided to use its own ships in Australia to repatriate Indonesian, Filipino, Chinese and Indian crew members to their countries. Three Royal Caribbean cruise ships based in Australia will embark to Asia very soon in order to return most of the crew back home.

Two Liberty of the Seas crew members test positive for COVID-19

Two Royal Caribbean crew members from the cruise ship Liberty of the Seas have tested positive for COVID-19. This was confirmed by Rodger Rees executive director at Port of Galveston, who said the port authorities were notified that two Liberty of the Seas crew members were screened and tested positive for COVID-19.

Navigator of the Seas Issues Strict Guidelines for Crew

Strict health and safety protocols are implemented onboard the cruise ship Navigator of the Seas. Each crew member is now isolated in guest stateroom and no one is allowed to leave the room without specific approval by the ship's authorities. Failure to comply will result in disciplinary action up to termination.
