The Omicron variant didn’t leave the cruise industry unconcerned. Another Cruise Line updates the protocols, following the immediate effect. Princess Cruises is the one notifying the guests this time about the changes. One of the changes is wearing masks during all cruises, no matter the length, instead of the previous mandatory wearing masks for 10-day or longer cruises only. The other one is banning smoking in the casino.
The following Cruise Lines made changes for the same reason: Carnival Cruise Line, Norwegian Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean, and all of them are convinced that they will this way avoid possible outbreaks onboard its ships.
“Princess Cruises is dedicated to the health and safety of our guests, our team, and the communities we visit. Our CruiseHealth protocols and procedures have proven very effective during our restart and have been developed in consultation with medical experts. They are designed to be adaptable as the current public health situation evolves.”
The statement of the company in their informing letters to the guests include the following:
“All guests are required to wear masks at all times when indoors, except when eating or drinking or when in their own staterooms. We request masks also be worn outdoors if in large gatherings and physical distance cannot be maintained; they are required during embarking, disembark and when on transportation. Health experts recommend using a higher-grade mask when indoors such as surgical or KN95.”
